Hayesville

It’s a good thing I can’t speed up time

It fuels the fire going in my mind

Dreaming down a dark highway

And even now I can sense my needs

Like a mirror looking back at me

And all it’s trying to say is

It’s a long way to Hayesville

And that’s where I want to be

Yeah, it’s a long way to Hayesville

So Carolina come to me

Pretty soon I’ll be picking up speed

Around the ridge with Tusquittee Creek

Washing all my stress down stream

Cause when my feet hit the Blueridge dirt

I’m reminded of life and its worth

But until then I’ll just dream, because

It’s a long way to Hayesville

And that’s where I want to be

Yeah, it’s a long way to Hayesville

So Carolina come to me

Yeah, It’s a long way to Hayesville

And that’s where I want to be

Yeah, it’s a long way to Hayesville

So Carolina, Carolina, Carolina... come to me

Oh, oh, oh

Come to me

Carolina, Carolina

Yeah, come to me

Ocean

I’ve been searching for something real

Something beautiful, something I can feel

Where my heart's heavy and it’s beating steady

Oh I know I’m ready, please just set me free

Because in my mind I can realize

When she changes tides it opens up my eyes

And a deep breath can mean life or death for me

But isn’t that such a beautiful tragedy

So float me away in the arms of your love

Drifting with your body as it covers me up

Oh you’re so incredible, you’re so incredible

From somewhere above

And I can get lost if I go too far

The point of no return just shooting stars

Oh you’re so incredible, you’re so incredible

That’s what you are to me

See I respect the ways mother nature plays

She made it all and she can take it just the same, but

You and I know something stronger grows

Within the heart and soul, and I can’t seem to let it go

So float me away in the arms of your love

Drifting with your body as it covers me up

Oh you’re so incredible, you’re so incredible

From somewhere above

And I can get lost if I go too far

The point of no return just shooting stars

Oh you’re so incredible, you’re so incredible

That’s what you are to me

So float me away in the arms of your love

Drifting with your body as it covers me up

Oh you’re so incredible, you’re so incredible, you’re so incredible

So float me away in the arms of your love

Drifting with your body as it covers me up

Oh you’re so incredible, you’re so incredible

From somewhere above

And I can get lost if I go too far

The point of no return just shooting stars

Oh you’re so incredible, you’re so incredible

That’s what you are to me

Any Ol Sky

Ive swam the oceans, climbed top the tallest tree

I’ve walked a mountain, and felt snow beneath my feet

I’ve worn the wind that blew the Cumberland Gap

And I’ve loved a woman, with a heart, I can’t get back

I’ve been a strong man, holding on to every thought

Invested time, where clocks can’t be bought

I’d break the bank, put every penny in the hat

If I could find that lady and get my heart back

So don’t tell me what’s easy when you see with different eyes

What I can’t understand is how one can live such a lie

Under any ol sky

Lord knows I’m a traveler, figured one day hell

I’ll come across ya, and get back the love I left

But it’s been years since this soul has felt

A woman in its arms and a heart to steady melt

So don’t tell me what’s easy when you see with different eyes

What I can’t understand is how one can live such a lie

Under any ol sky

I’m near the old age, ash amongst the earth

Now times I wonder, was the love really worth

All I gave, just to make her whole

When All I’ve got is a tattered mind and an empty soul

So don’t tell me what’s easy when you see with different eyes

What I can’t understand is how one can live such a lie

Under any ol sky

The River Bend

I’ve been working all day in the heat, my clothes are soaked

And I’m dreaming over a better place just down the road

It’s a paradise such a sensation a tan on my skin

It’s a wooden dock and no phones or clocks where

That river bends

So here I go, oh jump on in

Because I know, all my problems go away in the end

Where that river bends

I’ve never felt such a warming sun, shine on me

It hangs above all day long, atop those trees

It’s like a breath of life, glory found, amazing grace amen

Sounds good right now so excuse me pal

I’m headed to the river bend

So here I go, oh jump on in

Because I know, all my problems go away in the end

Where that river bends

When I’m called upon by the man upstairs, to spread my wings

Don’t fret about life without me or what it brings

Just stay strong, carry on my friend we’ll meet again

Like a warm breeze through a cypress tree where

That river bends

So here I go, oh jump on in

Because I know, all my problems go away in the end

Where that river bends

Rich

Yes I’m rich, but I ain’t talking money

I don’t need problems like that

Yes I’m rich, can you tell by the way I’m smiling

Thankful for all I do have

Maybe I can be someone you can learn to appreciate

And maybe I can show you how to love instead of hate

Maybe I can be someone you can call a friend

And maybe I’ll be there in the end

Yes I’m rich, my cup runneth over

It’s hard staying sober, even without a drink

Yes I’m rich, for the candle in my window

Shining the light upon my better half

Maybe I can be someone you can learn to appreciate

And maybe I can show you how to love instead of hate

Maybe I can be someone you can call a friend

And maybe I’ll be there in the end

Yes I’m rich, but I ain’t talking money

I don’t need problems like that

Texas and Me

You think I’d know raised in a rodeo place

How in just eight seconds everything can change

But some lessons take a broken hearted fall

Like that receipt laying on the counter, printed out from Uhaul

With a goodbye note that says it might be too late

But I’m out here looking anyways

I looked down in Houston, double checked in Dallas

Her daddy's place in Waco, can’t believe I let her go

Every dive bar out in Austin, Abilene and Kaufman

Yeah I’ve looked everywhere that I should

But I think she finally left Texas and Me for good

Talked to a buddy at the Texaco said he saw her gas’n up

But he really didn’t know

And all I want to do is get her back

But it’s kind of hard to do, when I don’t know where she’s at

I looked down in Houston, double checked in Dallas

Her daddy's place in Waco, can’t believe I let her go

Every dive bar out in Austin, Abilene and Kaufman

Yeah I’ve looked everywhere that I should

But I think she finally left Texas and Me for good

Well I’ve crossed every corner from here and all that borders

This lonestar state man I think she’s a goner for sure

It’s for sure

I looked down in Houston, double checked in Dallas

Her mama's place in Plano, can’t believe I let her go

Every dive bar out in Austin, Abilene and Kaufman

Yeah I’ve looked everywhere that I should

But I think she finally left

I looked down in Houston, double checked in Dallas

Her daddy's place in Waco, can’t believe I let her go

Every dive bar out in Austin, Abilene and Kaufman

Yeah I’ve looked everywhere that I should

But I think she finally left

Oh I think she finally left

Yeah, I think she finally left

Texas and Me for good

Ole Man Jackson

Well Ole Man Jackson was a shady fool

He lived way back where nobody knew

He’d come to town only once a week

Pick up his copper line and pounds of yeast

Then tread on back to his old camp fire

Mix up a big ol batch and run it through the wire

Mountains would thunder but never saw rain

As Ole Man Jackson made lightning with a bang

And the hills sang

Heat up some of that hundred twenty proof

Come on Jackson, you know what to do

Let the moonshine through

Every midnight he’d run his route

A couple of jugs and mason jars to every house

Rearview occupied watching for the law

Hammer down at all times when you run with alcohol

And the hills sang

Heat up some of that hundred twenty proof

Come on Jackson, you know what to do

Let the moonshine through

The sheriff was right on Jacksons heels

Said this here’s the last round, no time to kill

So on a full moon summer night he sealed the deal

To the woods one more time and fired up that steel

And the hills sang

Heat up some of that hundred twenty proof

Come on Jackson, you know what to do

Let the moonshine through

Let the moonshine through

Head Honcho

Burning down the devils road

He thinks he’s got me now

Lifting up that heavy load

Surrounded by a dark black cloud

What a fool

I’m the one in charge

And I say where I go

You can’t break me down, no

I’m the head honcho

I’m the head honcho

Fool me once but never twice

Your love has better days

I’ve heard the talk and all your lies

No watch me walk away

Not a fool

I’m the one in charge

And I say where I go

You can’t break me down, no

I’m the head honcho

I’m the head honcho

Who me? That’s the head honcho

Who me? That’s the head honcho

Who me? That’s the head honcho

Who me? That’s the head honcho

I said I’m the one in charge

And I say where I go

You can’t break me down, no

I’m the head honcho

I’m the head honcho

I’m the head honcho

I’m the head honcho

Whiskey

You probably think I got a strong one poured up

Of number seven, to the rim of my cup, and I’m regretting

Everything that I did wrong

Better yet you see me stumbling to my truck

Outside a bar, searching for an answer not getting too far

Asking god for a sign

But they didn’t tell me, that whiskey doesn’t go good

With you being gone like I thought it would

It’s no sip I can hold down

And they didn’t tell me, that whiskey burns even worse

Than the memory of you walking out for the first time

A last goodbye

But tonight, I stay sober with the blame

Because the whiskey doesn’t taste the same

Sometimes I want to drink it anyways

Because I know, a few straight shots and away you go

And maybe then I can move on

But I don’t want to make an ass of myself

Because I’ll wake and find you at the point of sober anyways

So just like us it goes to waste

But they didn’t tell me, that whiskey doesn’t go good

With you being gone like I thought it would

It’s no sip I can hold down

And they didn’t tell me, that whiskey burns even worse

Than the memory of you walking out for the first time

A last goodbye

But tonight, I stay sober with the blame

Because the whiskey doesn’t taste the same

No, they didn’t tell me, that whiskey doesn’t go good

With you being gone like I thought it would

It’s no sip I can hold down

And they didn’t tell me, that whiskey burns even worse

Than the memory of you walking out for the first time

A last goodbye

But tonight, I stay sober with the blame

Because the whiskey doesn’t taste the same

Livin' Off The Land

Oh how lately, I’ve been in the mood

To trade this all in for something new

Maybe Montana, a mountain side river dream

Living life for you and me

Raise up a family for a while now

Hours come as the minutes they go

And every second here we sit just growing old

So beautiful the world outside

So why do we choose to hide

Close a door that’s open wide, then fake a smile

But I’ve seen greater to know that this ain’t it

Pack what we need, the rest forget

Walk beside me darlin’ come on take my hand

And let’s go live off the land

Like a sweet lullaby, they’ll be daisies in her hair

Silk warm to the touch like fire in the air

In the garden’s where I’ll be

Every rooster call waking me

She’ll lay there gracefully, as I kiss her brow

But I’ve seen greater to know that this ain’t it

Pack what we need, the rest forget

Walk beside me darlin’ come on take my hand

And let’s go live off the land

Wrong Things

I’m a rambler with a short fuse just turn me on, then cut me loose

I’ll down a dozen with a full house, smoke a left hand, then head on out

It’s in my best interest to be home before the sun

But when has my best interest been priority number one

Oh, I’m so good at being bad

Oh, just throw away every care I had

I ain’t worried about tomorrow, tonight

Right now it’s the wrong things, done right

If I inhale a second wind don’t draw the line, I’ll cross it again

Come hell or high water, sleet or snow, no stack of silver, or pot of gold

Could keep me from living like a wild horse on the run

Lock and load another bullet, cause this ones left the gun

Oh, I’m so good at being bad

Oh, just throw away every care I had

I ain’t worried about tomorrow, tonight

Right now it’s the wrong things, done right

Oh, I’m so good at being bad

Oh, just throw away every care I had

I ain’t worried about tomorrow, tonight

Right now it’s the wrong things, done right

Oh, I’m so good at being bad

Oh, just throw away every care I had

I ain’t worried about tomorrow, tonight

Right now it’s the wrong things, done right

The Outlaw

Boots on when the sun wakes up

Black coffee in a broken cup

He never complains about the load

Saddles on come high noon

Not a minute too soon

And she knows he’s got to go

Cause he’s a cowboy, on the run

With vicious bullets, in a loaded gun

And when a cowboy, commits a crime

Well even cowboys, have to do the time

He headed west for the rio grande

What else would you expect from him

A little crazy to say the least

But he was tough like a leathered nail

And robbing banks was taking him to jail

He took his chances with the beast

Cause he’s a cowboy, on the run

With vicious bullets, in a loaded gun

And when a cowboy, commits a crime

Well even cowboys, have to do the time

One night near El Paso

Covered up by the moons smoke

He woke to Rangers on the rise

Surrounded by twenty guns

He surrendered saying he was done

But an outlaw never dies

Don't We All

Well I know you’re low right now, thinking, you’ll never come up again

Lost every dog ya had in the fight, nothing left to do but give in

When somewhere deep inside, there’s a fighter in your soul

And every breath is a deep inhale to a world you didn’t know

But I want you to know

You’re not alone, in this fight

We all have times, it seems like

You may not get up from the fall

Oh, but don’t we all

Well I heard you found true love, trading heartache in a bottle for peace

No more broken days or lonely nights, landing anywhere but your feet

Until a suspicious mind, guides you where you haven’t sailed

Things get tough, the waters are rough, and you’re clenching to that rail

Well go on and tell yourself

You’re not alone, in this fight

We all have times, it seems like

You may not get up from the fall

Oh, but don’t we all

You’re not alone, in this fight

We all have times, it seems like

You may not get up from the fall

Oh, but don’t we all
